My Story
Fatuma and her 8 siblings recently lost their father to a car accident. Before coming to New Hope, Fatuma lived with her mother, who makes less than $1 per day, in the Arubaine slums of Busia.
Due to a lack of funds, Fatuma could not attend school regularly or eat more than once or twice a day. Most of her time was spent fetching water and selling cassava and charcoal on the street.
Fatuma is now under the full care of New Hope. Her dream is to finish school and become a nurse.
