Meet Alex

My Story

Alex lost his father to AIDS in 2006 when he was 2 years old. He was then left under the complete care of his mother, who is also HIV+. As a peasant farmer, his mother earned about fifty cents a day   and was only able to feed her kids twice a day. Alex, his mother, as well as his two sisters lived in a small grass-thatched hut.

Alex is now under full care of New Hope where he is given three meals a day, as well as medical care and the opportunity to go to school. Though still young, Alex says he wants to become a lawyer.
